Utility Service & Billing

The Village of Siren bills water and sewer on a monthly basis.  Meters are read automatically near the end of each month and bills are issued the 1st of each month for the prior month’s usage.  Water and sewer bills are due on the 20th of each month and penalties are assessed at a rate of 1% per month compounded.

Sewer bills are based on water usage even if used for watering a lawn, filling a swimming pool, etc.  The Village of Siren does discount July and August sewer charges with a sprinkling credit for residential customers.  An average of May and June sewer usage is used for July and August sewer bills providing there was less usage.

For those who use a lot of outside water, such as for lawn sprinkling, it is possible to purchase a subtractive meter through the Public Works Department.  This meter can be attached to an out-side hose bib and any water that registers through this meter would be used to calculate sewer use charges.

The Village now offers our customers the option of having their monthly water and sewer payments to be automatically deducted from a checking or savings account.  Please download this form and return it to Village Hall if you would like to take advantage of this option.  ACH Form
